Pelindo III to build new terminal in Lamong Bay Surabaya

State seaport operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III plans to build a new multipurpose terminal in Lamong Bay in the East Java capital of Surabaya, which will cost it Rp 1.3 trillion (US$144 million).

Sidoarjo, East Java. Another bubble has emerged on the Porong highway near Sidoarjo in East Java after the appearance of gas bubbles and mud in the middle of the highway last week.

East Java Authorities Want to Close Surabaya's Dolly's Red Light District

Surabaya. Authorities in East Java are calling for the closure of Surabaya's notorious Dolly red-light district, arguing that it is a center for the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

East Java Deputy Governor Saifullah Yusuf said that if the city administration failed to close the complex, which is often referred to as one of Southeast Asia's largest red-light districts, it would be partly to blame for the spread of disease.
